Every rug is carefully inspected and packaged to ensure it arrives in excellent condition. Depending on the style, rugs may be rolled face in or face out. For example, serged rugs are typically rolled face out to help them lay flat when unrolled, while rugs with an attached pad are rolled face in to prevent damage or delamination.
All rugs are packaged on a core selected for size and weight:
- Regular wall, 3.5” diameter core (0.125” thickness) for small to medium rugs.
- Ultrex core (3.5” diameter, 0.4” thick) for the largest, heaviest rugs—our most durable option.
We use high-quality plastic materials designed specifically for the carpet industry. Plastic tubing (.008” thickness) with suffocation warning is standard for all rugs, with Tuff Grip (.008” thickness) added at the ends for extra corner protection.
Handling is done exclusively with carpet poles to prevent tearing. Large rugs include a hole on one end for pole attachment, while the other end is sealed. Smaller rugs shipped via UPS or FedEx are sealed on both ends.
Inspection
While we take great care in packaging, transit can sometimes cause issues. Always inspect your rug upon arrival. Concealed damage may not be visible until the roll is opened. Common examples include:
- A broken core causing wrinkles.
- A shifted or removed core transferring grease.
